My next exhibition will be held in Lohme Art Gallery in Sweden. Opening in mid-June. Hope to see you there:)
I have just completed my second painting in which I mix traditional acrylic painting with airbrush. In addition, I used Lascaux Pasta B and Dremel rotary tools.
I feel that something has happened with the colors in the new paintings, thanks to the use of the airbrush. It's often the case that another tool, provides inspiration and new ideas. I am now ready to start on the third painting in this series. The idea is that they will be exhibited in Copenhagen in August.
Soon I will produce some digital prints in very limited editions. To see these first, sign up for my newsletter.
This is my first painting in which I have mixed traditional painting with an airbrush technique.
I use a Collani airbrush and are very happy with it.
This is an area I wanted to explore long time, but it is only now that I have taken the initiative to do something about it. Must admit that this was very interesting, and I felt very inspired from the start.
I probably will never be purely an airbrush artist, but I like to mix different materials and techniques. It is challenging to get this to be an expression I can be proud of. Feel that it is still easy to recognize my personal expression in the paintings., but it will be interesting to see how much new I'm going to add in future paintings.
New materials and tools are important when it comes to renew as an artist. Glad I'm still curious and innovative, and that the need for change is present.
I'm back in Norway after a fantastic week in New York. I visited four important art fairs, and I also managed to see MOMA. In addition, I visited Mana Contemporary, a beautiful place where more than 100 artists have their studios in a longer or shorter period. I will return and going to work there throughout July 2015.
The highlight of the trip was that a collector in New York bought 5 paintings from me at Scope. ESKFF has now bought eight paintings since December 2013. I feel proud and honoured.
